Angolan wonderkid Zito Luvumbo has agreed a five-year-deal to join Italian Serie A side Cagliari from this Wednesday.
His parent Club before the deal Primiero D’Agosto of Angola and Cagliari of Italy agreed a fee around the region of €1 Million for the switch plus add-ons plus a stake om future sale this Wednesday.
Zito starred for Angola in last year’s Under-17 AFCON tournament in Angola, earning a call-up to the senior team barely months after.
The tricky forward has been on the books of Premiero D’Agosto for over seven years developing into one of the most sort after player in the country.
He has been a member of the Club’s first team since last year featuring in the the Girabola and the CAF Champions League.
Last year he picked up the SIFA Girabola young player for September.
His outstanding performances attracted interest from Pyramids of Egypt, Premier League outfits Manchester City and West Ham United among others.
A switch to the Serie A provides the required environment for the continuation of his growth.
He was in Brazil for the preparations and subsequently for the Under-17 FIFA world cup in Brazil last October.
Current National team gaffer Pedro Goncalvas deserves huge credit for what the boy is today.
He started working with Zito and Pedro Osvaldo Capita (2019 Under-17 AFCON lead scorer) at Agosto’s youth team when they were just 13.
Coach Pedro took Zito to the Under-17 AFCON in Tanzania and handed him a senior international debut weeks after the tournament.
Capita recently left Angola for French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille.
