Real Madrid’s boss Zinedine Zidane hopes Gareth Bale trained after the Welsh winger was spotted playing golf during Real’s Audi Cup trip.
Bale was left out of Real Madrid’s Audi Cup team due to illness.
Reports in Spain claim that the unsettled winger was seen playing Golf while his team was losing to his former employers Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
The former Southampton winger was expected to complete a move to the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, but the move failed to materialize last weekend.
Real Madrid’s much needed 5-3 win against Fenerbahce in a complicated pre-season for them, took the back stage as Bale’s situation took the spotlight.
“I don’t know what he[Bale] did. I am here with my players,” Zidane told reporters when asked about Bale’s Golfing reports. “I cannot comment on that. I hope he has trained there [in Madrid]. We are here thinking about the team.
“We will see when we get back. I am not going to stop anybody doing anything, we all have our responsibilities. I don’t get into his personal life. He stayed there to train, and I think he did that.”
When another question was thrown at the former French playmaker on the issue he was quick to show how much he was uncomfortable with the subject.
“Another question? You can’t put me in a position I don’t want to be. I won’t answer more than this.”
With the transfer window in China officially closed, it is more likely Bale will only leave Madrid to another European league.
