Zambian Premier League outfit Zesco United FC have announced the appointment of former Zambia national team head coach Numba Mumamba as their new head coach from this Friday.
The former Yanga SC trainer replaces George Lwandamina whose three years at the Ndola based Club ended earlier this week.
According to Aaron Mubanga Jnr of Zamfoot. com magic as the new gaffer is fondly called has penned a three-year deal with the Zega Mambo.
Zesco United FC had a 2019-2020 season to forget, failing to finish in the four CAF inter-club competitions spots for the first time in three years prompting the recent changes at the Club.
42-year-old Numba is a very popular figure in the country as he represented Zambia’s national selection on 60 occasions, featuring at two AFCON tournaments and played for bitter rivals Zanaco.
The Zesco United faithfuls should be hopeful of a new life upon the arrival of coach Numba Mumamba at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Zesco United FC is already soaked in pre-season training ahead of the 2020-2021 season penciled for next month.
