There was a show of Cameroon’s attacking endowment this Sunday in the Match-Day 36 of the French Ligue 1 championship as FC Metz of Didier Lamkel Ze edged Lyon of Karl Toko Ekambi by 3-2 at home of the former.
Cameroonian forwards Karl Toko Ekambi and Didier Lamkel Ze made impacted the five goal thriller sharing a goal and an assist.
10-man Lyon were behind by two goals in the opening 40 minutes thanks to Metz goals from Vincent Pajot and and Didier Lamkel Ze in the 26th and 40th minutes respectively.
Lamkel Ze’s strike was an absolute beauty to mark his second goal in five appearances for the relegation strugglers.
However, Moussa Dembele benefitted from an assist from a Tete assist to reduce the deficit just before the break.
Lyon returned for the second half as a better side but their multiple breaks from counter attacks failed to produce the equalizer.
Their task became more daunting just after the hour mark when Tiago Mendes was sent off, leaving Lyon with ten men.
Coach Frédéric Antonetti brought on Cameroonian defender Jean Armel Kana Biyik to help reduce off not stop the multiple Lyon incursions going into the final 24 minutes.
Lyon were rewarded for their persistence in the 84th minute as Karl Toko Ekambi played in Dembele to level.
Algerian forward Farid Boulaya won it for FC Metz with a last minute strike that sealed their fifth win of the campaign.
Metz face Angers and PSG in their final two games if the season hoping to add to their 28 points to ensure an escape from the direct relegation spot.
