Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Royal Antwerp forward Didier Lamkel Ze scored twice in his side’s 3-2 win at home to Waasland Beveren in match-day 22 of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on Friday.
Ze with a rare starter role this season made the most of the latest early into the game.
The forward scored off an assist from Jordan Lukaku, 18 minutes after kick off, giving Royal Antwerp the lead to crown their dominance of early proceedings.
Michael Frey stepped up and converted a 44th minute penalty to equal things for a Waasland side that improved after conceding the first goal.
Both sides failed to score in final minutes of the game, so took a 1-1 score to the dressing room during the break.
Ze and his Antwerp colleague returned for the second segment with the same energy with which they began the first, pressing Waasland deep into their half.
Ze had the reward of that effort in the 57th minutes as he restored Antwerp’s lead through a fine finish.
The goal meant Waasland Beveren were down but not out as evident 14 minutes later.
At the 71st minute, Michael Frey scored his second of the night leaving the score at 2-2 with brace scorer for both sides.
Antwerp will respond again in the 87th minute when forward 24-year-old Dylan Batubinsika scored the winner to keep all three points at the BosuilStadion.
The game ended 3-2 for Antwerp who move up to the second spot on the log with 43 points from 25 games.
Antwerp face La Louviere in the Belgian cup on Tuesday before traveling to Marius Noubissi’s Beerschoft next weekend.
Returning Didier Lamkel Ze has scored three goals and assisted once in nine appearances cutting in as a winger.
