27-year-old Burkina Faso defender Zana Oumar Coulibaly has reached an agreement with officials of AS Vita which will see him leave the club with immediate effect.
The ex-Simba SC full back joined Vita in July 2019 on a two-year-deal but lack of game time amongst other issues has curtailed his stay in Kinshasa.
A club statement confirming the split was issued on Saturday.
“After eleven months, the experience of Zana Coulibaly at AS Vita has terminated.
“The Burkinabe player has rescinded his contract by mutual consent.”A statement from Vita cough read.
The ex-Asec Memosa defender was a regular in the club’s dismal run in the CAF Champions League and Confederation cup this season.
Having played professional football in Ivory Coast, Tanzania and most recently DR Congo, Zana is apt to pick up a new challenge and prove he can still be a good fit for the right club.
Vita failed to impress in this season’s CAF inter-club competitions and are looking to reshuffle their squad for a better output next season.
It is in the backdrop of this that Zana is leaving the club.
AS Vita Club are DR Congo’s Ambassador at next season’s CAF Champions League alongside TP Mazembe.
