Cameroon’s Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa is edging close to resumption of duty for Italian Serie A side SSC Napoli.
The midfielder who picked up a muscle problem two weeks ago, after a league fixture against Udinese has fully-engaged in the walk towards his return to the competitive football.
Raffaele Canonico, Napoli’s doctor has been working to ensure Zambo returns quickly and now signs are he will return this weekend and make the trip away with his club.
Napoli travel to Bergamo this weekend to confront Atalanta at the Atletti Azzuri D’Italia and the return of Zambo who missed international duty only enhances their chances of getting a result in a difficult travel.
Zambo has been a pivotal figure in the Napoli side since arriving the club on loan from English championship side Fulham FC.
Being one of the first picks in Luciano Spalletti’s team, Zambo has featured in 23 games in all competitions, mostly as a starter.
The 26-year old was missed by his country through the International break but he stayed back at Naples and worked on his fitness.
Zambo could be back by March 6, against AC Milan in a top of the table clash in the Serie A.
The former Marseille midfield oscillator didn’t miss any club game.
Zambo came through the Academy of AS Fortuna of Mfou, before moving to Cotonsport of Garoua- Cameroon in 2013 through which he went abroad.

He has gone on to represent French side Marseille, Fulham, plus La Liga’s Villarreal CF and these days he is at Napoli, on loan from English championship side, Fulham FC.
His possible return is good news for the Cameroon national team staff, as the lead trainer Rigobert Song is surely certainly counting on him in their journey at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in which they were drawn against Switzerland, Serbia and Brazil on Friday.
