In a tweet of top 5 best La Liga dribblers by worldwide recognised statisticians on Friday 17, Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa was ranked second.
The Cameroonian international is currently putting his doubters to the sword with superb performances, and proving to the rest of the world that he did not just come to make up numbers, with the yellow Submarines.
Anguissa is only bettered on the chart by fellow African Thomas Partey and it is fair to say the midfielder has had Messi under his shadow as per the dribbling statistics since his coming to La Liga.
Top five La Liga dribblers
1- Thomas Partey 81,8%
2- André-Franck Zambo Anguissa 81,1%
3- Frenkie de Jong 74,5%
4- Lionel Messi 67,3%
5- Éver Banega 66,1%
The 24-year-old has been able to fend off challenges in his position, as he has played a whopping 25 games for Villarreal this campaign, scoring one and assisting another.
Due to Zambo Anguissa’s work rate in the middle of the park, Villarreal’s horrendous start to the season is now a thing of the past as they’re placed on a comfortable 8th mid-table position.
With performances like this, the Craven Cottage faithful might not witness the comeback of the Cameroon international from his loan spell as several top clubs including Villarreal are willing to pay Fulham’s asking prize for the midfielder.
