The communication boss of Zambia Football Association (FAZ),Mwazi Chanda has told that there has been a request for a friendly game against
Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on the June 9th in Madrid as the 5 time Africa Champions gear-up to retain their continental title during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June.

The 2017 Champions have not played any friendly since March 2019, after they beat Comoros Island in Yaounde 3-0 to qualify for the 2019 finals in Egypt. FECAFOOT Communication’s boss Parfait Siki told on Wednesday evening that the Country is working on a couple of warm up games but the coordinator of the national selections of Cameroon,Bill Tchato has not made any official statement about a game against Zambia.

Should the friendly game go ahead as announced by FAZ,it will permit the Zambian National football team prepare for the 2020 CHAN qualifiers against Botswana in July. Cameroon were handed the organization of next year’s event by CAF.

FAZ have also programmed two other high profile international friendly games against Morocco and Gambia.

The secretary General of Zambia football governing body, Adrian Kashala disclosed that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation will host the chipolopolo’s from June 6-17 and will play a friendly against Morocco of coach Herve Renard on June 16.

Should all Duringgo as announced by FAZ,then Zambia will face Africa’s second highest title holders, Cameroon on June 9th in Madrid before concluding with the Gambia on June 12th,2019.

Morocco and Cameroon will use their friendly encounters to prepare for Africa’s most prestigious football event to be played in under a month.

Cameroon are in group F alongside Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Benin.

The 2019 AFCON will run from June 21st -July 19 ,2019 in Egypt.
