Under-17 Lions of Cameroon full-back Zabo Belo is not getting carried away by recent results picked up by the team as they continue preparations for the upcoming UNIFFAC tournament planned for this February.
Speaking in the post-match interviews after Monday’s three-nil win against TAD Sports Academy at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo-Cameroon, the 16-year defender stated they are staying focused.
“Yes we are preparing for the UNIFFAC, we will take it step by step per the instructions of the coaches. Today it was three-nil. We will keep working for the best.”
The versatile defender who was deployed in the right-back role by coach Foe confessed the Under-17 Lions were made to work though the final score may suggest the game was a one-way traffic.
Zabo had a game to remember operating from the right back role to great effect stopping all incursions from the TAD frontline and overlapping with every opportunity to put the TAD backline in difficulties with his crosses.
The AS Dauphine full-back has been one of the great picks from coach Anicet Mbarga as though in good competition with Dalbai he has remained a good team player and always gives his all whenever he is called upon to contribute to the success of the team.
