Options Sports Academy of Bamenda will represent the North West region in the zonal finals of the U-17 Youth Football Championship.
Options Sports defeated ANAFOOT North West by 3 goals to 1 to emerge champions of the U-17 football championship in the North West region.
The National Football Academy, ANAFOOT North West started the match the better team as they recorded the first shot on target in the first minute of the match when Febe Fritz Gill saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Christian Tete of Options Sports Academy Bamenda.
The move made Options Sports switch play as they dominated possession and controlled the midfield creating numerous scoring opportunities.
At the 15th minute of play, Options Sports came close to scoring when Sundze Zunedu saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Ning Che Bong of ANAFOOT North West.
In the 28th minute of the match, a beautiful one-two play between Henri Junior Djembe and Febe Fritz Gill saw the latter shot on target and his shot was deflected into the back of the net by David Tanko of Options Sports Academy Bamenda.
Upon resumption of the second half, ANAFOOT North West brought in Emmanuel Junior Poseh.
Henri Junior Djembe was close to scoring but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Christian Tete.
Options Sports Academy created numerous scoring chances but the ANAFOOT defense line remained resolute.
In the 57th minute of the match, Song Ncham Edmond found the onrushing Sundze Zunedu who scored to level scores for Options Sports Academy.
In the 67th minute of the match, Oris Ambe Hanye took advantage of a defensive error to give Options Sports Academy a 2#1 lead.
Minutes later, substitute Lovis Tche scored a stunning indirect free kick as Options Sports Academy took a 3#1 lead.
Options Sports Academy of Bamenda will therefore represent the North West region in the zonal finals of Youth Football.
