Potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Youssoufa Moukoko who has represented Germany at different categories of the youth teams has dropped a photo on social media which has left many fans of the Indomitable Lions excited about his future.
Moukoko, a native of Yaounde who holds a German passport took to Instagram this Tuesday to publish a photo in training with the Cameroon flag directly behind and the German jersey further away from him.
The 17-year old striker whose international career has been a subject of discussion in the Cameroon media and beyond in the past two years seems to be on his way home despite Germany also indicating interest in his services.
Germany have expressed huge desire to have the striker on board; “In Youssoufa, we have an extraordinary talent in Germany, who we want to nurture with caution and accordingly to his performance. After close discussions with Borussia Dortmund, we decided to call up him up, because we think his participation will help both the team and his own development,” Germany Under-21 trainer Stefan Kuntz was quoted by Goal.com last year, but talks about meetings with Samuel Eto’o,president of the Cameroon Football Federation,FECAFOOT last December and the efforts from Cameroon’s minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi may have turned the player’s head in favour of Cameroon.
Moukoko who set a new appearance record in the Bundesliga in November 2020 and a new scorer record a month later scored his first Bundesliga goal of the ongoing season and the fourth in two seasons in the competition is certainly a bright prospect.
The teenager who was born in Yaounde Cameroon moved to Germany less than a decade ago.

Indomitable of Lions Cameroon head coach António Conceição Da Silva Oliviera has openly expressed his admiration of the boy’s talent and revealed the technical staff were keen on getting the boy. Now that Moukoko has started identifying himself with his roots, it’s certainly time for the Lions staff to get busy on the case.
Going by FIFA laws, playing for the U21s of a national selection like Moukoko for did with Germany still leaves a player open to a switch of nationality.
Moukoko joined Dortmund’s academy ranks in 2016 from St Pauli and graduated to the senior squad last year and has since played ten games for the first team, scoring once at 17.
Last year, Cameroonian Football Coach and enthusiast, Augustin Kwamo-Kamdem who masterminded Moukoko’s development in Germany revealed the various means through which Cameroon could get German-based youngster.
Kwamo-Kamdem, renowned for his works in Germany having trained the likes of Ghanaian legend and former Deputy General Secretary of CAF, Anthony Baffoe and German legend Lukas Podolski, said Cameroon through the FA needs to get the right people capable of convincing the potential Indomitable Lion, to talk to the promising star on the possibilities of him switching to represent Cameroon. Its therefore on the new executive of FECAFOOT to make hail while the sun shines.

Moukoko’s elder brother Borel Moukoko recently signed for Cameroon Elite One Championship side APEJES of Mfou. In all, his family has very strong ties in Cameroon so if he confirms his availability it won’t be a tough task settling in.
