Barely eight months after 28-year-old Algerian winger Mohamed Youcef Belaïli left Esperance of Tunis for Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club, he has expressed his desire to return to Tunis for a third spell.
The Oran native voiced his admiration and kept the doors opened for Esperance in a recent interview granted to Tunisia Numerique.
The one time SCO Angers player is no stranger to the Esperance sorroundings having made over 70 appearances in two separate spells at the club between 2012-2014 and 2018-2019.
With his time in Tunis as arguably the best phase of his career and the difficulty to get it going at Al-Ahli the chances of leaving Jeddah are growing.
Quizzed on the issue, the former MC Oran player didn’t disguise his emotions.
“Esperance is the best club in Africa, I know others may not hold the same opinion. I hope to defend the colours of this club again”:Youcef stated.
The 2019 AFCON champion is a fan favorite in Rades having won four Tunisian league titles and two CAF Champions League crowns
Youcef began his career at his home city of Oran with RCG in 2007, he moved to Mouloudia Club of Oran a year later before switching to CA Bordj Bou Arreridj where he spent a forgettable two years period.
He joined Mouloudia again in 2010 and got his career on track in the two years spell before leaving Algeria for Esperance where he started his unfinished super story with Esperance.
The full Algeria international has scored five goals in 18 appearances for the desert Foxes since making his debut in 2015.
Esperance has struggled to match their class this season following the departure of some of their major Arsenals at the end of last season.
