Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have climbed up by three places in Pool B of the ongoing 2020-2021 Cameroon Elite One championship.
This comes after the outfit from the Northwest region of Cameroon was informed that it’s match-day One encounter against TKC last month in Bamenda which was boycotted by the visitors citing lack of Covid-19 test results has been declared a defeat for feature by the homologation commission of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT.
In a release signed on April 23, FECAFOOT informed both clubs that upon its findings and going by article 136 of the championship, TKC absented the game and will be lose by forfeiture. The Yaoundé-based outfit losses the game by three goals to nil and losses three points on their general classification and a three-nil win is accorded YOSA of Bamenda.
The decision means YOSA who still have a game in hand against New Stars of Douala move up to 5th spot with 10 points to their credit after nine games.
The boys of coach Martin Nkabyo await the decision of the commission concerning the Stars fixture in match-day eight while preparing for the second round of the championship.
YOSA face TKC in match-day ten of the championship next weekend.
