Before the start of the North West regional derby, PWD Social Club of Bamenda were outright favourites to win the match.
But early pressure from the boys of coach Nkabyo Martin of YOSA was enough to put the PWD back line in trouble as Ngong Neville’s 26th minutes shot gave YOSA the lead for the rest of the first half.
Just like the first half, YOSA dominated proceedings in the second half as Ngong Neville doubled their lead at the 50th minute of play before Tongua Armel Emmanuel Regis made it three nil for YOSA.
According to YOSA’s coach, Nkabyo Martin, his team have been watching PWD play and they knew about their weak points which is what they capitalized on resulting to their victory.
“Since we started the second phase, this team has been playing and we have been trying even though we haven’t had the results we think should accompany the quality of play we are putting in”, coach Nkabyo Martin said.
He went further to add that, ” we knew we were playing against the second in the championship which is a very team that has been having the results. We knew it was going to be a good game”.
The absence of top goal scorer, Leon Boyomo and playmaker, Nchindo John Bosco in David Pagou’s squad could be felt as PWD found it difficult breaking through YOSA’s defense.
PWD welcomes Coton Sport FC of Garoua on Match day 23 this Wednesday February 18th while YOSA travels to Loum to take on UMS of Loum.
