Ivorian player and and four-time African footballer of the year, Yaya Toure is set for medical at Chinese League One side Qingdao Huanghai, according to the club.
Qingdao are said to be keen on Yaya after an injury to captain Juan Verdu.
Qingdao are top of the division and want the Ivorian to help them seal promotion to the China Super League.
A Qingdao Huanghai press official told AFP that the four-time African player of the year winner is in China.
“The coaching team will assess his physical condition and ability to decide whether he is suitable for our team.”
The former Barcelona and Man City’s Star agent had come out some days to announce the retirement of the player but with the news from the Chinese it seems the gifted midfielder is ready to hang his boot for now.
