Aruna, just like most of his previous matches rallied from a first set loss to win the remaining set in a result of 7-11, 11-1, 14-12, 11-5.
The 33-year-old forehand player achieved his first win over Liang after two matches without a win against him by racking up series of backhand plays that sunk the backhand specialist from China.
“I kept fighting and fight and I did not give up. I tried my best and it worked out for me in the end. I also think it’s my positive mindset that made me do well too. This win is for all my fans and everyone back home in Nigeria and Africa,” said Aruna after the match.
