Blessing Oborududu failed to secure an Olympic ticket in wrestling after she lost her reperchage semi final match 2-2 on criteria to Sarah Dosho of Japan.

The Nigerian Wrestler had kept the hope of getting an Olympic ticket after winning defeating Evgheni Nedealco (NZL) 10-0 to advance in the first reperchage.

She needed to fight in the heat as she had lost in a previous round 1/8 match to Mensah Stock 6-1 and needed to compete for a place left in the next round.

Oborududu had earlier beaten Caneva D. (Ita) 10-0 to advance to the next round.

The 30 years old freestyle wrestler has won bronze medal in the women’s middleweight at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, a gold medal for women 63 kg category at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games and a Gold medal at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in the 68 kg women’s freestyle wrestling event.

Despite the loss, Oborududu will hopefully be ranked top 10 in the world after the tournament.
