Lionel Messi is arguably the best footballer ever to have graced a football pitch, and he is admired and idolized by many with the exception of his own progeny.

Messi’s son Thiago certainly watches and hears a lot about his father’s out of the ordinary football skills, but he is not impressed.

The young Thiago rather has a soft spot for one of his father’s teammates who plays a completely different though also decisive role from his father’s.

“When I am big, I want to become a goalkeeper and be the best in the world, just like Marc Andre Ter Stegen,” Thiago declared.

The German international goalkeeper should be blushing for such high admiration from the son a player that the entire football world has wowed about for over a decade now.

“If Thiago wants to become a goalkeeper, I would gladly train him. It will be my way of paying Messi back for the tips he has given me and the good friendship we share,” Ter Stegen replied.

After all it is often said that one good turn deserves another.
