French Champions Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be in search of another defensive midfielder, despite having Senegalese international defender Idrissa Gueye.
The French Ligue 1 outfit has expressed an interest in securing the services of Leicester City and Nigeria Super Eagles’ midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
According to reports from ESPN, the former Genk midfielder is top on the wishlist of the French giants who have also been linked to Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
Thomas Tuchel’s team are said to be willing to make a bid of about £50 million for the 23-year-old native of Lagos.
Ndidi’s current contract with Leicester City runs until June 2024.
He joint the Foxes from KRC Genk in January 2017 and has gone on to become one of the most consistent midfielders in the English Premier League with some top draw selfless performances, ranking among the best in breaking their opponents’ game plan.
He has totaled a 130 appearances for Leicester, scoring eight goals, and has registered two goals in 29 games for Brendan Rogers’ team in the current campaign.
He has also been mentioned to be on the radars of Arsenal and Manchester United, though he has clearly stated that he is happy at the King Power Stadium and does not intend to go anywhere.
Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi has won 36 caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and he is one of Gernot Rohr’s main lieutenants.
