Cameroon defender Joel Matip leveled the scores at the 77th minute when he canceled out Rahim Sterling’s 12th minute opener. Matip headed home Virgil Van Dijk’s cross, but Liverpool lost the game in the shoot-out after Claudio Bravo saved Georgino Wijnaldum’s spot kick.

In the English League 1, 24 year old Cameroon London born defender Emmanuel Monthe and Tranmere Rovers lost 2-3 at home against Rochdale. The Cameroon defender played the entire game and provided an assist to Connor Jennings for their second goal at the 90th minute.

In the English League 2 Yann Songo’o played in midfield for 68 minutes before making way for Kyle Wootton for Scuthorpe United who beaten 0-2 at the Glanford Park Stadium by Swindon Town.

GERMANY

In the German 3rd Liga, 19 year old Cameroon forward Franck Junior Evina is in red hot form with Krefelder FC Uerdingen 05, since joining them on loan from Bayern Munich. He has scored four goals in four league games this season. He secured a point for them away to SG Sonnenhof Grobaspach with a 90th minute equalizer in their 2-2 away draw.

In the German Regionalliga Nordost, 22 year old Cameroon defender Arthur Ekalle was in defense for the entire game for Berliner AK 07 in their 2-1 win against VfB Germania Halberstadt.

In the German Regionalliga Sudwest, 28 year old Cameroon defender Nestor Herve Djengoue scored an own goal at the 68th minute for FC Astoria Walldorf in their 2-2 home draw against FSV Frankfurt 1899. The FSV Frankfurt defender was substituted at the 72nd minute by Marcus Weinhardt.
On his part FC Astoria Walldorf’s 30 year old Tiko born defender Tabe Nyenty played the entire game for the home side.

FRANCE

In the French Ligue 2, there was no second goal of season for 19 year old potential Indomitable Lion Bryan Mbuemo in for Troyes in their 1-2 loss at home against Clermont. Mbuemo who scored 10 league goals lasted season had opened his account in Match Day 1 against Niort.

Cameroon midfielder Arsene Elogo Guitangui saw yellow at the 40th minute for Grenoble who lost at home 0-1 to Ajaccio. The midfielder kept his place in the team for the entire game.

New signing 26 year old Cameroon player maker Cedric Axel Ngando Elessa was not part of Auxerre’s team that beat Le Mans 2-0. He moved to Auxerre from Goztepe in the Turkish top flight.

There was a duel of Cameroonians when Valenciennes of defender Freddy Bong took on AS Nancy of forward Abde Dona Ndoh. Both players played the entire game but none of them left Valenciennes’ Stade du Hainaut with the bragging rights at the game finished 1-1.

There was a comfortable 2-0 win for Lens against Guingamp. Cameroon defender Felix Eboa Eboa started the game for Guingamp from the bench. He was introduced at the 54th minute to replace Lebogang Phiri in midfield.

In the French Super Cup, Indomitable Lions captain Eric Maxime Choupo Moting was not on the team sheet for PSG who defeated Rennes 2-1 to lift the trophy. Young Cameroon defender Gerzino Nyamsi was an unused substitute for Rennes but his compatriot and teammate James Edward Lea Siliki started the game and only made way for Del Castillo at the 84th minute.

HOLLAND

It was a dream start for Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana and Dutch Champions Ajax of Amsterdam in match Day 1 of the Dutch Eredivisie. They drew 2-2 away to Vitesse. The Cameroon shot stopper kept his place in the team for the entire game like he did in almost every game last season. Unfortunately he failed to keep a clean sheet.

BELGIUM
Cameroon defender Fai Collins was not part of Standard Liege’s team that made light work of Zulte Waregem with an emphatic 4-0 win at their Stade Maurice Dufrasne in the second day of play of the Belgian First Division A.

Cameroon international goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa watched his team Oostende from the stands at they beat Cercle Brugge 3-1. He was not on the team sheet as William Dutoit continued to be the first choice for in the eyes of Coach Hugo Broos.

Gent are getting a just return on investment for their acquisition of Cameroon defender Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui. Their record signing from Slavia Prague was on target again in their 6-1 demolition of Eupen. He got their second at the 8th minute. He also had a sound defensive display as he played the entire game.

Royal Excel Mouscron of Cameroon midfielder Frank Boya and winger Fabrice Olinga played to a 0-0 draw at home against Anderlecht. Both players started the game. Marko Bakic came in that the 61st minute for Olinga while Boya as usual completed the game.

In the Norwegian top flight, that is the Norway Eliteserein, Vaalerenga were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Kristiansund BK. 21 year old Cameroon forward Thomas Olivier Amang led the line for the visitors for 54 minutes before leaving his place to Liridon Kalludra.

30 year old Cameroon goalkeeper George Motase Bokwe was not on the team sheet for Mjoendalen in their 2-2 away draw against Tromsoe.

A brace from 23 year old Cameroon midfielder Alain Richard Ebwelle was not enough to prevent defeat for bottom the league VPS against Honka in a Day 18 fixture of the Finland Veikkausliiga. The native of Ebolowa opened the scoring at the 16th minute and got their second at the 90th minute in a 2-3 home loss.

26 year old attacking midfielder Gael Junior Etock played the entire game for FC Lahti who defeated KPV by a narrow 1-0 score.

24 year old Garoua born Cameroon attacking midfielder Jacques Haman was brought in at the 51st minute to replace David Addy. The choice of coach Jarkko Wiss paid off, as Harman provided an assist the 90th minute to Baba Mensah at the 90th minute to earn a point for Ilves in a 2-2 draw away to RoPS.

KuPS could only manage a point at home to HIFK in a 1-1 at their Savon Sanomat Areena. They went a goal down as early as the seventh minute of the game. 25 year old Cameroon defender Ousseni Nji Nfifen Mounpain was absent from the call in his team SK Austria Klagenfurt’s high scoring 4-4 draw against FC Liefering.

SWITZERLAND

Cameroon forward Jean Pierre Nsame showed all his class against Lugano for Young Boys of Berne. Nsame who led the line for the entire game scored their opener at the 15th minute and got their second at the 60th minute. His teammate and compatriot Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu also started the game but was substituted at the 79th minute after seeing yellow at the 75th.

In the Switzerland Super League FC Sion recorded a 3-1 home win against FC Zurich. 25 year old Cameroon midfielder Christian Zock Abep played the entire game for FC Sion, while his teammate and compatriot, 31 year old Alexandre Song was left on the bench for the entire game.

23 year old Cameroon midfielder Gael Ondoua was not in Servette’s team that secured a precious 1-0 win at home against Luzern.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Midfielder George Constant Mandjeck’s Sparta Prague were comfortable 3-0 winners against Pribam of defender Juan Olivier Simo Kingue. The Cameroonian midfielder and defender were not part of their respective teams for this game.

The introduction of 21 year old Cameroon defender Joss Didiba Moundoubou at the 70th minute to replace Milhovil Klapan for FK Senica in their 0-3 home loss against Slovan Bratislava, was a little late as they had already conceded three goals in 63 minutes.

RUSSIA

22 year old Cameroon forward William Joel Tchuameni Kouemo was brought in at the 74th minute to replace Franco Mlinar in his team Inter Zapresic’s 3-1 loss away to NK Osijek.

SLOVENIA

On the fourth day of play in the Slovenia PRVA Liga, NK Tabor Sezana of 26 year old Cameroon forward Louis Marie Rodrigue Bongongui Assougou secured all three points at home against Domzale with a 2-1 win. The Cameroon forward was substituted at the 90th minute and was booked a minute earlier. He provided the assist for their second goal at the 13th minute to Predrag Sikimic.

Cameroon defender Franck Macky Bangnack Mouegni played the entire game for Olimpija Ljubljana in their 4-2 win against NK Triglav Kranj. They are now top of the table with three wins and a draw in their opening four games of the season.

HUNGARY

Cameroon forward David Philip scored a 37th minute penalty to put Budapest Honved ahead away to Diosgyori VTK, but they could not hold on to the advantage as they home side was also awarded a penalty just before the break and made no mistake through Maty. They got their winning goal at the 75th minute. 30 year old Ngog was replaced at the 69th minute.
The presence of Cameroon defender Niba MacDonald Ngwa in defense for Honved for the entire game could not prevent the defeat. He even saw yellow at the 60th minute.

SERBIA

In the Serbian Super Liga there was a 1-0 away loss for FK Napredak Krusevac against FK Indjija. FK Napredak did not make the trip with their 22 year old Cameroon forward Baha Regis Samuel.

BELARUS

25 year old Manjo born Cameroon forward Hervaine Ferdin Moukam Mekontso and BATE Borisov showed no pity to visiting Torpedo Minsk in the Belarus Cup. Moukam bagged three goals in an 8-1 bashing for BATE. He got their second and third goals at the 15th and 35th minutes respectively before rounding up the scoring at the 85th minute.

Cameroon midfielder Gaby Junior Kiki played for the last 21 minutes of regular play time and extra time for Dinamo Brest who defeated FC Minsk 3-1 at the Regional Sport Complex Brestskiy in the Belarus Cup. The midfielder took the place of Masksim Vitus at the 69th minute.

Cameroon’s 2017 AFCON winning forward Robert Ndip Tambe has rediscovered his scoring touch. He bagged a brace for league leaders FC Sheriff Tiraspol in their 3-0 win against Zimbru in match day 16 of the Moldova National Division. The former NQSA striker opened the scoring at the 61st minute before grabbing his second at the 72nd minute. He has now registered 7 goals in 13 league matches this season.

Three Cameroonian midfielders were involved in CS Petrocub’s 3-0 home win against Dinamo-Auto in the Moldova National Division although none of them was on the score sheet. Jacques Ghislain Onana Ndzomo, Donalio Melachio Douanla and Jessie Guera Djou all contributed to the win.

In the opening day of the Montenegro Telekom 1st CFL, there was a 0-0 draw between Kom and Zeta. Zeta’s 34 year old Cameroon midfielder Alphonse Denis Soppo was not part of their team for the game.

There was a 0-1 for Always Ready and their 26 year old Cameroon forward Marc Francois Enoumba. They were beaten at home by Bolivar in a day four fixture of the Bolivia Primera Division.

USA

18 year old Cameroon forward Lionel Abate Etoundi watched from the stands due to suspension as his team Real Monarchs earned a precious 1-0 win at home against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

24 year old potential Cameroon defender Bradley Steede Kamdem Fewo was on the bench for the entire game while 21 year old forward Albert Dikwa Lega was completely absent for Saint Louis FC in the 2-0 loss away to New York Red Bulls’ Reserves.

23 year old Cameroon forward Ulrich Donova Ewolo led the line for the entire game for North Carolina FC in their 1-2 home loss to Indy Eleven. He failed to score but was impressive as always.

It was a game to forget for former Astre of Douala midfielder Brian Anunga and Charleston Battery as they were at the end of a 0-5 thrashing at home at the Blackbaud Stadium to Tampa Bay Rowdies. The 22 year old Cameroon midfielder was booked at the 31st minute.

There was another home loss for another Cameroonian in the US second tier. 20 year old midfielder Jerome Ngom Mbekeli and Swope Park Rangers were beaten at home 0-2 by Nashville SC. Cameroon forward John Mary Honi Uzuegbunam was on target for Shenzhen in their 1-1 against Beijin Renhe FC. The 26 year old Nigerian born forward put Shenzhen FC ahead at the 26th minute but they could not hold on to the lead.

In the Chinese second tier, there was a home loss for Nantong Zhiyun FC of Marius Obekop and Anatole Bertrand Abang. They were beaten 2-0 by Heilongjiang Lava Spring. Obekop played the entire game while Abang did not even make the sub’s bench.

KAZAKHSTAN

It was a losing debut for Cameroon midfielder Clarence Junior Bitang with his new club Kaisar Kyzylorda. The 26 year old midfielder, who Vardar in Macedonia was brought it at 81st minute to replace Maksat Baizhanov, could not help them get an equalizer againt Okzhetpes Kokshetau in that 0-1 home loss. Bitang’s compatriot and teammate, 29 year old defender Abdel Lamanje played the entire game.

SOUTH AFRICA

There was a 58th minute yellow card for former Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda captain Junior Awono of Stellenbosch FC in their 0-0 draw away from home against Chippa United FC in the South Africa Premier League. Stellenbosch won promotion last season as second tier champions. Awono played the entire game.

In goal for Chippa United was 34 year old Cameroon goalkeeper Amour Patrick Tignyemb who joint them from Bloemfontein Celtics. The former Caiman of Douala and Tonnerre of Yaounde goalkeeper has proven to be a safe pair of hands in the South Africa Premier League over the years.

In the Lionesses Den, Nchout Njoya Ajara scored a brace to help Valerenga register a 6-2 win over Roa.
