Cameroon indomitable Lions forward, Stephane Bahoken has declared he and his Lions teammate have high plans of winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Cameroon next year.
According to an interview carried by French online sports portals, Footballogue, the player is optimistic and ready to represent Cameroon and help the country win the CAF organized football bonanza early 2022.
“We have a clear ambition which is to win the 2022 AFCON at home. Individually, my objective is to be among the final list of 23 players and help the country win the AFCON.” Bahoken declared.
The SCO Angers goal poacher equally pointed out on the desire harbored by him and his team mates to qualify for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“We also have the desire to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.” He said
The 28-year-old former OGC Nice and Strasbourg forward also revealed his opinion about the current Lions lead trainer Antonio Conceicao. He equally cited some key playing team members the squad can jointly rely on for greatness in the upcoming football showpieces.
“We are presently having a very intelligent person as a Coach. He will be best placed to make his choices and have the best combination as a group. I believe in our group (Team) led by Choupou-Moting, Vincent Aboubakar, Toko Ekambi, Zambo Anguissa and others. We have known each other for a long time. I believe in us to go as long as possible in the 2021 AFCON”
Stephane Bahoken has recorded over 10 caps for the Indomitable Lions, scoring over 3 goals during that period since his debut in 2018 against Kuwait in an international friendly.
He has netted over 6 goals for French outfit, SCO Angers this season in the French top tier football championship, the Ligue 1.
Bahoken will be among the breed of players hoping to represent Cameroon for the first time in a continental tournament when the country host the 2022 AFCON in January and February next year as well as helping the Indomitable reach its 8th FIFA World Cup by qualifying for the Qatar 2022 football event.
