The first phase of activities to mark the beginning of the maiden edition of the Njalla Quan Sports Academy- Grey Lab ‘Walk for life’ will begin on Wednesday, December 16.
The three-day health campaign which preceeds the walk proper will be launched in the Limbe 1 municipality as early as 8AM on Wednesday.
Inhabitants of the municipality will be screened for different diseases provoked by lack of sports or inadequate sports throughout Wednesday in these municipalities.
Per plans unveiled by Messrs Henry Njalla Quan Junior and Ekiti Martin (Dr) in the build up to the event, the population of Limbe I, II, III will be screened for Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity and given health talks ahead of Saturday’s walk across the city.
Kick442.com spotted the medical team comprising Doctors and nurses in Limbe on Tuesday with some at the Man O War Bay, base of the famous Njalla Quan Sports Academy.
The unprecedented event refreshed by the SABC through its product Eaux Vitale and XXL and fueled by SONARA is expected to impact the inhabitants of the three municipalities of the town of friendship and beyond as there are personalities, personnel from other towns and countries expected to be involved in one way or another.
The event is aimed at achieving a healthier Limbe through sports as part of a handful of activities linked to corporate social responsibility carried out by the 20-year-old Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe on a mission to create a positive impact in Limbe and beyond.
The event (Walk for life) has recieved the endorsement of a good number of traditional rulers, their subjects, plus local transporters not leaving out petit traders.
The initiative guided by the theme, “Stay Active, Live Healthy,” is a free-for-all campaign which has attracted at least ten top-notch medical doctors and a battery of nursing experts available over the period of the event.
The ‘Walk for life’ is a non-governmental initiative which has also recieved endorsement from legendary Indomitable forward Albert Roger Milla, plus the celebrated Adolphe Claude Moundi aka Petit Pays amongst others.
In addition to the above-mentioned institutions, the Iya Foundation noted for its multiple humanitarian activities has provided the much needed medical supply for the event.
Lead quality exercise books producers and distributors in Southwest – Cameroon SAMCO paper has provided multiple items which will be distributed to the thousands per results of the raffle draw to be held after the walk.
This is happening at a time when the NQSA of Limbe just clocked 20 years of excellence and its three teams participating in the ongoing Limbe Youth tournament qualified for the knock-out stages undefeated.
