The West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B) has confirmed the host and date for the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.
According to a post on WAFU-B (ZONE OUEST B) social media handles, Ivory Coast (Cote D’ivoire) will host the second WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Zonal Qualifiers will take place from August 13 to 26, 2022.
Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria), Ampem Darkoa (Ghana), USFA (Burkina Faso), L’Africa Sport (Ivory Coast), Athleta FC de Lome (Togo), and Espoir (Benin Republic) will participate in the 2022 WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League.
Bayelsa Queens emerged as league winners in Nigeria after a maximum of 15 points from five (5) games at the 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six.
Rivers Angels represented Nigeria at the maiden WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers and reached the final where Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana defeated the former Nigerian Champions.
The Port Harcourt-based side also made it to the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League where it crashed out in the group stage.
Bayelsa Queens will hope to perform better than Nigeria’s last showing at the Zonal Qualifiers and main tournament.
