The group B matches of the WAFU women’s tournament holding in Sierra Leone took place on Wednesday as teams who won won big.

Mali started their campaign on a very good note as they give Gambia a thumping in the group B opener at the Wusum mini Stadium.

The Malian team opened score in the thirty third minutes through Aguissa Diarra.

From then on it was Mali all the way as Oumou Lone made it two before the end of first half.

Lone scored the second at the start of second half as the Gambian seemed to cave in at any given time.

The first goal scorer, Aguissa Diarra scored her second of the game and Mali’s fourth as Mali looked to have the game wrapped up.

Aguissa Diarra completed her hat trick eight minutes after her second goal before Sendebu Sidibe put the icing on the cake to make the scoreline six goals to nil at seventy five minutes.

The game ended that way with an emphatic win for Mali.

Liberia, in the second match of group B, walloped their opponents, Guinea Bissau at the Wusum Stadium.

The Liberians scored the first goal thirteen minutes into the game through Lucy Massaquio.

Bernice Willie made it two in the 43rd minutes.

While it seemed there was no more action in the half, Angeline Kiev scored the third at the stroke of half time to give Liberia a comfortable lead at the end of the half.

Liberia continued with the same momentum in the second half.

However, the goals did not come like the first half as it took them about fifteen minutes into the second half for Lucy Kikeh to score the fourth goal which sealed the game.

After the conclusion of group B matches on Wednesday, Mali sit top with three points with superior goal difference. While Liberia take second.

Guinea Bissau and Gambia take the third and fourth position respectively.
