The head coach of the indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon Gabriel Zabo, has made public a list of 26 players to represent the country at the 14th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon will be eyeing their first continental crown when the competition kicks off in Morocco early next month. After a training camp and two friendlies against Senegal in Douala last week, the lionesses are heading out to France this Monday, where they will wrap up preparations with a friendly game against the French women’s national team scheduled for Saturday June 25.
Prior to their departure to the French capital, the Lionesses final squad was made known via FECAFOOT’s communication department.
The list consist of three goalkeepers, Nine defenders, six midfielders and eight forwards.
Amongst the 26 players, seven of them ply their trade at home in the Guinness Super League, while 19 others are foreign based. Two of the three goalkeepers are home based, while Bayelsa Queens’ goalkeeper Ange Gabrielle Bawou, also makes the cut.
Defender Estelle Laura Johnson, captain Gabriel Aboudi Onguene and Forward Michaela Batya Bisi Abam, have also made the list, despite not taking part in the training camps in Yaoundé and Douala.

Cameroon is lodged in Group B of the competition, alongside Zambia, Tunisia and Togo. The lionesses will play their first game on Sunday July 03, 2022, against Zambia.
