The Teranga Lionesses are back at the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022.
Also back with the team is the incredible Safietou Sagna after making her debut in the 2012 edition at the age of 18, this time as the national team captain.
She scored a hat-trick as the Teranga Lionesses defeated Liberia 6-0 in the First Round of the Qualifiers and also scored once again in the Second Round during a 1-1 draw with Mali helping her side to qualify on penalties.
Can they add the first TotalEnergies WAFCON trophy to their cabinet? Time will tell.
