Three Teranga Lionesses of Senegal players have been ruled out of the final Group A encounter between Senegal and host, Atlas Lionesses of Morocco.
Senegal trio of Coumba Sylla Mbodji, Anta Dembele, and Nguenar Ndiaye according to Communications from the Senegalese Football Federation (La Federation Senegalese de Football) will miss the game as their PCR tests conducted on July 7, 2022, came out positive.
“The Senegalese Football Federation wishes to inform the general public that six (6) of its member of the delegation in Morocco have bee tested positive for COVID. The PCR test that was conducted on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in preparation for the match; Morocco vs Senegal revealed that the players, Coumba Sylla Mbodji, Anta Dembele, and Nguenar Ndiaye were tested positive.” The statement revealed.
Three (3) medical staff of the team also tested positive for the novel virus; Dr. Nbalia Toure espouse Diallo, Yacine Drame (Physiotherapist), and Khadidjatou Ndiaye (Physiotherapist).
The players and medical staff have been put on quarantine and will not be part of the last Group A match between Senegal and Morocco.
The Senegalese Football Federation extends its usual support to the concerned parties.
The clash between Senegal and Morocco will determine Group A winners with both sides on six points after the first two group games.
