Super Falcons of Nigeria duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Osinachi Ohale have made the Best eleven (11) of the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) group phase.
The team was released on Monday by verified Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women’s Football platforms.
Rasheedat Ajibade scored two (2) goals as Nigeria finished in the second position in Group C behind South Africa and will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter-final.
Osinachi Ohale put in a defensive shift for the Nigerian side in the three (3) group games as Nigeria only conceded two (2) goals in three (3) games, keeping two (2) clean sheets in the process.
South Africa goalkeeper, Andile Dlamini alongside four (4) defenders, Zineb Redouani (Morocco), Lushomo Mweemba (Zambia), Osinachi Ohale (Nigeria), and Samia Aouni (Tunisia) were placed in the backline of a 4-3-3 formation.
Refiloe Jane (South Africa), Grace Chanda (Zambia), and Ghizlane Chebbak (Morocco) in the midfield.
Up front is Rasheedat Ajibade (Nigeria), Refilwe Tholakele (Botswana), and Ajara Nchout Njoya (Cameroon).
The quarter-final stage of WAFCON 2022 will commence on Wednesday after two (2) rest days with winners making it to the semi-final and by extension qualifying for Australia/New Zealand 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
