Cameroon international Volleyball passer, who was vice champion in 2019 Ahmed Awal Mbutngam has completed a switch to French outfit Calais VB, kick442.com can report.
The 30-year-old setter has spent the last three years on the books Amiens Volleyball Club and Rayon SC.
He switches to Calais for an undisclosed duration and other details in the deal have not been communicated.
The Nkongsamba native was a part of the Cameroon team that participated in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Qualifiers in January in Egypt.
The player has made the switch when the Coronavirus pandemic has denied sports men and women the chance of practicing as usual.
Mbutngam’s motivation to join the Club’s project made him a Calais player.
The pace setter told the media during his presentation that he was motivated by the Club’s team spirit after speaking with their gaffer on becoming a member of his squad.
Ahmed Awal sent an interesting message to the fans and his teammates after completing the switch;
“l promise to work extremely hard for more points, for every set, has its own game.
l heartily thank my coach and confidence attributed to me, it is an exciting new chapter, and I will give my all to keep the Club at a respectable level,” Awal stated.
The player at the peak of his power joins a very ambitious French side, where he will be key in realizing their objectives next season.
