Egyptian CAF champions league representative, Ismaily SC have been expelled from this season’s CAF champions league competition as a result of Violence perpetrated by their fans towards their opponents and match officials in last Friday’s CAF Champions league clash against Club Africain in Cairo.
The Champions league game was halted before full time after the officiating team led by Cameroonian referee,Alioum Neant Siddi had pause the game on multiple occasions because crowd trouble but finally ran out of patience when a storm of objects from Ismaily SC fans prevented a Club Africain player from taking a late corner kick.
The fans had earlier started misbehaving from the first half when Referee Alioum awarded 2 penalties in quick succession to visiting Club Africain.
The second half of the game which never ended kicked off 10 minutes after scheduled time due to the crowd trouble and this Wednesday,CAF has decided to employ article chapter XII article 3,Chapter XI article 13 and 18 of it’s regulations guiding this competition thus dismissing Ismaily SC from the competition. Group C is now left with just 3 clubs; SC Constantinois,Club Africain of Tunisia and TP Mazembe of the DRC.
