2020 rounded up in a complicated fashion for Cameroon’s forward (Captain) Vincent Abubakar due to the tragic loss of his mother in the months of December. Upon his return to his club Besiktas Vincent was received and cheered by his club management and team mates, something which helped the 29 year old to go on scoring as usual to raise his tally to 12 in the Turkish super league season.
However, 2021 seems to have kicked off on a good footing with news that the 2017 AFCON wining goal scoring merchant had been born a new baby into his immediate family. Abu’s team mates will be hoping that such good tidings will only push their striker to step up his game and increase his goals for the season to 20+.
Vincent Abubakar will in the months ahead get involved with national duty in the build up to AFCON 2022 which Cameroon will play host to.
