Unstoppable Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar has scored his eleventh goal of the season in his side’s 1-2 win at home to Trabzonspor.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon skipper scored the game’s opener in the 29th minute but unfortunately his side couldn’t protect that lead till full-time.
Vincent Aboubakar was included in the squad from kick off of the match-day 21 fixture while his potential international colleague and compatriot George N’Koudou settled for a place on the bench.
Besiktas dominated the opening half of the game and finally got the rewards for their efforts in the 29th minute when winger gave them a deserved lead.
Besiktas’ lead was canceled by a 44th minute own goal scored by Francisco Montero.
Besiktas and Trabzonspor took the 1-1 score to the break but the latter came back looking more difficult to content in the second segment.
Center-back Vitor Hugo put the visitors ahead in the 63rd minute of the encounter setting up an exciting finale with Besiktas needing a goal without reply to win a point or the visitors take away all three points.
The game remained on the 2-1 score as the clock ticked towards full-time
Forward Georges Kevin N’Koudou was introduced in the 64th minute in place of Rachid Ghezzal to make the front line more Dynamic.
13 minutes later, Dorukhan Toko was involved in an incident that led to him being sent off thus making Besiktas’ task more daunting.
Trabzonspor defended properly till the end of the game leaving the final score at 2-1.
The defeat keeps leaves Besiktas second-seeded with 44 points, a point adrift from leaders Fernabahce.
Aboubakar is the Club’s lead scorer with 11 goals in 17 appearances this season.
The 28-year-old former FC Lorient, Porto and Cotonsport forward also counts two assists this season.
