30_year_old Indomitable lions’ captain Vincent Aboubakar, has named former Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen as the coach who impressed him the most.
Vincent Aboubakar was handed his debut into the Cameroon senior National team by Paul Le Guen in 2010, when the then 18_year_old forward was still in the ranks of Cameroonian side Cotonsport FC, in his Native Garoua.
In an exclusive with 90footballfr, the Al Nassr forward detailed how it was fun working with the french tactician.
“I think it is Paul Le Guen,” Vincent Aboubakar said when asked about the coach who impressed him the most in his career.
‘It is Not because he took me to the world cup in 2010 at the age of 18. I think it was the big error that the Cameroon football federation committed by sacking him,” Aboubakar added.

” We went to the world cup and were eliminated and immediately they sacked him. He had a good vision, he wanted to work with the young players and he detected youngsters who had potentials, but unfortunately the federation sent him away.”
“Humanly, he is a very good coach, we were training very well. In fact he is the coach who impressed me the most and I always have memories of him,” Aboubakar spoke positively about the Frenchman.
Aboubakar Vincent also revealed how Ronaldinho inspired him to becoming a footballer.
“The first player who inspired me in football, is Ronaldinho. When I was small, it was difficult for me to watch matches. I was not watching many matches, but I was playing. I had a friend who is called Fidèle. One day he called me “Ekongolo, Eko, Eko…, There’s a player, if you see him, you will like him so much. You have some qualities like him, he told me that when I was still young. I asked him who’s this player? He said come I will show you the player and that day Barcelona was playing against Athletico Bilbao. And when I saw Ronaldinho, I said he is a true player. That’s how I started following Ronaldinho,” Aboubakar told 90footballfr.

“After Ronaldinho, I very much like Cristiano Ronaldo. The two of them inspired me so much, but the first is Ronaldinho.”
The indomitable lions captain also had some good words for his former national teammate Aurélien Chedjou, who recently announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
“Aurélien Chedjou, is a big brother that I like so much. It’s with him that I chat much, because I needed someone who is truthful with me. I don’t like to be friends with everyone but he is a big brother who understands me well and I respect him much.”
Off the football pitch, the former FC Porto man revealed that American rapper Kanye West, is his favorite artist.
Aboubakar is currently sidelined due to injury, but is expected to recover on time to lead Cameroon to their eighth world cup participation later this year, in Qatar.
