Indomitable Lions striker Vincent Aboubakar has linked up with his Saudi Professional League side Al Nassr, five days after helping his country to third position of the just ended Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
The striker was received by members of his club this Thursday afternoon with pictures from the club showing Aboubakar all smiles and was seen taking a bouquet of flower and taking a picture. Al Nassr will definitely be banging on the striker to replicate that his outstanding performance for his club who have a crucial League game this Friday.
In 15 appearances for the League this season, Vincent Aboubakar has found the back of the net six times and has also provided three assist in the process. in all appearances, he has featured 18 times with seven goals scored.
It was a terrific Africa Cup of Nations for Aboubakar, a player that scored just one goal at the 2017 AFCON and failed to score at the 2019 AFCON. His goal scoring boots were definitely on this year as he went on to score eight goals in the entire competition, almost single-handedly dragging his side to third place.
Cameroon was looking at finishing fourth with the third place match going in favour of Burkina Faso, a team Cameroon had won on the opening day 2-1.
Affectionately known to many Cameroonians as “Abou-bae”, Vincent Aboubakar was brought in at the second half and completely turn the game on his head scoring two successive goals to send the encounter to penalty shootouts which the Indomitable Lions went on to win.
Second place Al Nassr FC will be away to League leaders Al Ittihad this Friday, February 11, for matchday 20 of the Saudi Professional League. It looks likely that the striker will sit this encounter having just come back from Cameroon.

Meantime, Indomitable Lions duo Harold Moukoudi and Yvan Neyou Noupa have equally joined up with their struggling French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne. Unlike Aboubaka, Yvan Neyou and Moukoudi have been involved in a training session ahead of this weekend’s encounter.
Saint Etienne will be away to Clermont Foot this Sunday February 13 with Moukoudi and Yvan Neyou looking to go straight into the first eleven. St Etienne is currently bottom of the French Ligue 1 after 23 games played with 18 points. Two behind 17th placed Lorient.
