Cameroon’s forward Vincent Aboubakar could miss out from the 2019 Africa cup of nations in June.
The 27 year old striker suffered an injury during Wednesday training session with his club FC Porto in Portugal and adds to the list of injuries in the lions squad.
Aboubakar absence will be a huge blow for Cameroon as the five time African champions prepare to defend their title next month before hosting a similar competition in 2022.
He scored Cameroon’s winning goal against Egypt in the final of the 2017 afcon in Gabon to hand Cameroon her 5th continental tiltle.
The 2017 afcon winner had just recovered from a long term injury after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in September 2018.
He has not feature for FC Porto since then in Portugals top flight championship, the champions league and the afcon quqlifers for Cameroon.
The former Besiktas sensational signed a four year contract for Porto in August 2014.
The Garoua born talent made his international debut for Cameroon in 2010 and has scored 20 goals.
Cameroon will face Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Benin in Group F.
