Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and Besiktas forward Vincent Aboubakar made a telling contribution in his Club’s 2-1 Turkish Super League win at home to Gaziantep of Jean Armel Kana-Biyik on Saturday.
The striker who scored in their previous outing came into the match-day 29 fixture in full confidence.
Besiktas were forced to be patient in a game that turned out to be a very difficult task until when Aboubakar found the back of the net in the 15th minute of play.
The goal gave Aboubakar and mates the leeway to display their usual possession-basee football with the advantage they kept till the break.
At the break, it was a narrow one-nil lead for a Besiktas side that had their eyes on the top spot.
27 minutes into the second segment, Aboubakar scored what turned out to be the winner off another assist from Carl Larin.
The goal took Aboubakar’s season tally to 15 plus four assist in 23 appearances in the Turkish Super League.
George Kevin Nkoudou was introduced in the 86th minute with Besiktas already looking towards the next game.
Gaziantep won a 90 minutes penalty which was converted by Mali international Nouha Dicko to make it 2-1.
The ended on a 2-1 score in favor of Aboubakar’s Besiktas who cement their place as league leaders with 60 points after 27 games.
Aboubakar is the Club’s lead scorer this season.
The 28-year-old former FC Lorient, Porto and Cotonsport forward is back at his best.
