Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been named LOSC Lille’s Player of the year.
The 21-year-old striker scored 13 goals and four assists in the French Ligue One before the league was cancelled due to CoronaVirus pandemic. He also scored one goal in Coupe de France, two goals in Coupe de La Ligue, and two goals in the UEFA Champions League.
The Super Eagles forward is a toast of major clubs in Europe as clubs in England, Spain, and Italy are linked to carting him away from Lille after an impressive debut season with the French Ligue One side.
Osimhen who joined Lille after featuring for VFL Wolfsburg and Charleroi kicked off his Ligue One debut season with a goal in his first game against Nantes where he scored a brace.
Victor James Osimhen is also replicating his club form for the national team as he has scored in three of Nigeria’s last four games against Ukraine, Benin Republic, and Lesotho, only failing to score against Brazil during an international friendly.
Whether Lille will be able to hold on to their prized asset or allow him to follow the same path like Nicolas Pepe, who moved to Arsenal, will be known with time when the 2020-2021 season kicks off after COVID-19 pandemic.
