Cameroon’s international Judoka Hortence Vanessa Mballa Atangana has been crowned African Judo Champion. She backs home a bronze award from Grand Slam in Dusseldorf 2020.
The 28 year old defended and has been defending nation’s colours in every competition she answer’s present.
In 2011, she moved to Rouen in France. She surprisingly won the African Championships title in 2016 in Tunis U78kg and Open category. She took a silver medal at the Grand Prix in The Hague in 2018 as first athlete of Cameroon winning a medal in the IJF World Tour. She clinched a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Marrakech in 2019. She took silver at the African Games in Rabat in 2019.
Hortence Vanessa Mballa Atangana represented Cameroon in 2016, Summer Olympics where she competed in the Women’s U78kg. She did represnt Cameroon in 2015 in Brazzaville and in 2019 in Rabat Morocco all in the U78kg
The 2020 African Judo Championships is a judo competition which took place in Antananarivo, Madagascar, from 17 to 20 December 2020.
