19-year-old Nigeria midfielder, Christy Onyenaturuchi Ucheibe had an assist for her Portuguese side, SL Benfica during their 1-3 win over PAOK of Greece in the UEFA Women’s Champions League first qualifying round game on Wednesday.
Christy who was making her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut assisted Cloé Zoé Eyja Lacasse for Benfica’s second goal of the game in the 44th minute after serving her a long pass from her midfield position to double Benfica’s lead.
Ana Vitória opened scoring for Benfica as early as the fourth minute at the Gipedo Neas Efkarpias Makedonikou (Thessaloníki). Cloé Zoé Eyja Lacasse doubled their lead off Christy Ucheibe’s assist in the 44th minute.
In the second half, Thomai Vardali pulled one goal back for PAOK in the 57th minute before Catarina Amado made it 1-3 in favour of SL Benfica and confirm their place in the Round 32 of the tournament.
Nigeria Youth International, Christy Ucheibe saw 81 minutes of action for Benfica before she was replaced by Beatriz Cameirão. She joined Benfica early this year from the Swedish Elitettan side, Assi.
