Algerian giants USM Alger are close to completing the signing of 21-year old Ghanaian striker Kwame Opoku.
The current Asante Kotoko striker is in advanced negotiations for a switch to North Africa as Alger finalizes transfer details with the player’s current employers.
Reports from Ghana indicates that the eight times Algerian champions are willing to pay $560 000 for the striker who has netted seven goals in 13 appearances this term in the Ghanaian Premier League.
Kwame has reportedly signed a three-year deal with an estimated salary of $15000 /month and will move to Algeria after the international break.
The move to Algeria will add Kwame to a long-list of players from Ghana that have switched up north in the last decade.
The former Hearts of Oak forward has played his last game for Kotoko if the situation of the deal is anything to go by.
Kotoko will make windfall gains if the player switch to Algeria and USM have a high resale probability given the player is just 21.
