Never before has points in a derby being meant for one club. Strange enough the Littoral Regional derby pitting Stade Renard of Melong and Union Sportive of Douala has never ended with USD fans smiling.
The boys from the periphery of the Region [Stade Renard] have always made life difficult for Union Sportive which is a more established side in the history of Cameroon football.
This Thursday”s clash in Limbe will be the sixth meeting between the two clubs. So far, USD fans have not witnessed their fans register a win in this one. Fans of Stade of Melong have always emerged as the happier group of persons in this fixture.
Stade Renard of Melong have registered four wins and a draw in the previous five games against USD.
In that time the Melong boys have scored nine goals and conceded one. They have an enviable record of four clean sheets in this fixture and scoring in all-but-one of the games between these sides.
Lots of things may have changed over time, but Nkuissi Thomas Legrand and his mates from Melong travel to Limbe for this fixtures with some of this details in mind. Having said that USD has been the side to beat in the second round of this campaign.
This only goes a long way to make this fixture very interesting and attractive.
The stage is set and Limbe is waiting for Andoulo Serge and his mates.
