Newly appointed Eding FC coach Francois Heya looked rather a frustrated figure after his team’s three – nil mauling in the hands of Union Sportif of Douala.
The heavy defeat for Eding FC meant that they swopped places with bottom of the log AS Fortuna after 21 playing days.
Just over five years in Cameroon’s first-tier, Eding Football Club has won the Cameroon League 1 and the Cameroon cup in 2017 and 2018 respectively but all that now looks a long time ago.
Coach Francois Heya however, during his post match reactions after the USD game, called for calm in the ranks of the fans: “the score line would make fans feel USD overwhelmed us, but I think it was down to some personal errors.”
“We are ready to continue the battle. Union did well, but didn’t do enough to score us three goals. There is no fire in the house yet. Congratulations to USD, we look to come back stronger,” the gaffer ended.
Coach Francois Heya and his lads still have a chance as they are now four points from safety with the second round of the league taking it’s ‘baby steps’. Eding Sport would be involved in a real scramble on match day 22 scheduled for the weekend, as they pit fellow strugglers AS Fortuna.
