West Regional elite one Historic club, Unisport of Bafang have handed the duty of the head coach of the club to former Indomitable Lion,Hans Agbo, appointed on Friday on a 1 year deal.
The club barely got a second chance to stay in the top flight last season because rivals Bamboutos FC were condemned to the second tier competition by a FIFA sanction.
Unisport ended the season on 16 spot but had a surprise run to the cup of Cameroon semi final with Henri Kinkeu as coach. The disappointing season ended without the coach with whom they had been for the last 5 years as the Serbian coach, Sinisa Jovanovic left when the going got tough.
Agbo a former defender for clubs like Proveyance, Olympique de Mvolye and TKC in this same championship many years ago, returns as a very experienced gaffer at 51.
He has worked at Maloudia FC amongst other clubs and served as the deputy national team coach of the Gambia.
Agbo will be assisted Marcellin Gaha while Guy Blaise Nzonkou will be his Goalkeepers trainer.
Agbo was part of the Cameroon team that finished 4th in the 1992 African cup of Nations and also participated in the USA 1994 World cup with the Indomitable Lions after he had failed to make the final squad for the 1990 competition.
The Douala born defender featured 24 times for Cameroon and scored 1 goal before hanging up his boots after AFCON 1996.It is time for him to show his tactical strength with the 1996 champions of Cameroon.
Club sources have confirmed Agbo will be in the West region to observe Unisport play a series of pre-season friendly games.
