Historic Cameroon Elite one side, Union Sportive of Douala looks very likely to avoid relegation this campaign if they can keep their current rhythm.
A quick change in the club’s form has helped the club quickly escaped the relegation zone in the 18 clubs championship.
The club won their fifth of six games in the second segment of the season on Wednesday against Panthère Nde in Limbe.
Goals from Felix Chenkam, Innocent Assana and Panthère’s Goalkeeper John’s own goal gave the club an emphatic three nil win in Limbe.
The latest victory has helped the club fetch their 15th from a possible 18 points in the second round of the championship.
In that time, they have suffered just one defeat against Bamboutos FC in match-day 21.
They share that wonderful run with leaders Colombe of Dja and have scored 11 goals and only leaked in two goals in 2020.
Six games into the second round of the championship, the boys of coach Richard Towa are just two points away from matching the number of points they picked up in the entire first half of the season.
Five time winners of the Cameroon League one championship, Union Sportive of Douala travel to Garoua this weekend to face 15 times champions Cotonsport of Garoua in a crunch fixtures. It promises to be a tough game, especially because their host are on a run of poor results. Cotonsport is still to win after six second round matches in 2020.
