The Under-20 National selection of Cameroon has recorded a narrow 3-1 win against Congo Republic in match-day two of the ongoing UNIFFAC tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Coach Christophe Ousmanou’s team gave themselves a chance to stay in the competition by defeating a very stubborn Congolese side this Thursday evening.
Young Nchang Nchindo John Bosco scored the game’s opener 16 minutes into the contest.
The Congolese equalized in the 38th minute through Jean Louamba.
Both sides retired to the changing room during the break on a 1-1 score.
13 minutes upon resumption, substitute Onana Roderique scored the second for Cameroon from a set-piece situation to make it 2-1.
That goal galvanized the boys of coach Christophe Ousmanou who became more adventurous.
Etouga Mballa killed the game for the Lions when he scored the third goal in the 78th minute.
The game ended on a 3-1 score leaving Cameroon a foot to the final pending other results.
If both Congo and DR Congo fail to win Cameroon will face Central Africa Republic in the final penciled for December 22.
