18 year old France born forward Alexandre Fressange of PSG and 21 year old Cameroon born defender Oumar Gonzalez of FC Chambly will miss Cameroon’s first leg Under 23 AFCON Qualifiers clash against Tunisia this Friday in Yaounde.

Sources say the France based duo are still waiting for their FIFA clearance to represent Cameroon. Therefore Cameroon’s squad for Friday’s game is down to 20 players for coach Rigobert Song Bahanack.

Reports say the Cameroon football federation has written to FIFA, and is waiting for a response on the players situation this Friday but the coach is unwilling to get the players involved in his game plan.
Both players attended Thursday’s pre-match conference with coach Rigobert Song and team manager Raymond Kalla.

Oumar Gonzalez was born in Douala Cameroon but has been in Europe for more than 15 years working his way up the football ladder while Alexandre Fressange was born in Trappes-France but to a Cameroonian mother.

I am a French-Cameroonian, I have decided to represent Cameroon, I hope to make my mum happy, it’s not been easy adapting, my team mates have been welcoming and I am very excited” ; Fressange told the media on Thursday.

The young lad is still finding his way into the all star PSG senior team but he is a regular with the reserves wherein he has scored 1 goal in 6 appearances this season while Oumar Gonzalez have made over 60 appearances for different first teams as a professional player.

Both players could have pledged their international allegiance to France but have opted for Cameroon.

Oumar and Alex could have their clearance before coach Rigobert Song’s troops travel to Tunisia for the return leg game.
