President Paul Biya meets Under 17 Lions

The Under Lions of Cameroon were at the Unity Palace on Monday 20th May 2019. The team went to the presidential house on invitation by president of Cameroon, Paul Biya who met the team for the first time since the team came back from Tanzania with the 2019 Under 17 AFCON trophy.

The Junior Lions had been received by the Prime Minister of Cameroon. Chief Joseph Dion Ngute earlier this month but yesterday’s historic meeting was the ultimate for the Lions and an opportunity the team to meet the number 1 statesman in the country.

Captain Fabrice Ndzie and his team mates with the exception of Wamba Lionel and Ben Ndongo also took part in the National day match pass at the 20th May Boulevard in Yaounde.

Cameroon went on a run of 5 games without defeat by beating Guinea in the final to clinch Cameroon’s second ever crown in this Category of the AFCON.

Cameroon’s Steve Mvoue also won the player of the tournament award plus 1 man of the match award.

Cameroon will be in Brazil later this year to Participate in the Under 17 World cup in that category.
