Umar Sadiq scored his first hat-trick for Spanish Segunda Division side, UD Almeria in the space of 29 minutes to help his club to a 3-1 win over Ponferradina.
The 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medalist scored his first goal of the game in the second minute off Ager Aketxe’s assist.
Sadiq doubled UD Almeria’s lead in the 21st minute at the Estadio de Los Juegos Mediterraneos thanks to an assist from Serbian, Nikola Maras.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward completed his hat-trick eight minutes later.
Curro Sánchez pulled one goal back for the visitors in the 82nd minute but that could not prevent Umar Sadiq and UD Almeria from another victory in their quest for promotion to the Spanish Primera Division.
Umar Sadiq saw 59 minutes of action before he was replaced by Juan Villar.
He has scored nine goals for UD Almeria since he joined the Spanish side from Partizan in 2020, playing 18 games for his Club since his switch.
UD Almeria occupied the third position on the Spanish Segunda Division table with 41 points in 20 games, one point behind first and second-placed Espanyol and Mallorca.
They will take a trip to Numancia in their next game on January 6, 2021.
