Cranes of Uganda have qualified for a fifth straight African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 in Cameroon after defeating Burundi 6-0 on aggregate.

Fahad Bayo, Vianne Sekajugo and Allan Okello were on the scoresheet today at Lugogo.

Uganda had defeated Burundi 3-0 at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo three weeks ago in Bujumbura.

Fahad Bayo had put Cranes in the lead in the fifth minutes to make it 4-0 on aggregate.

Before Vianne and Allane wrapped up the win to make it 6-0 on aggregate and qualify Uganda for its sixth CHAN tournament.

Uganda Cranes has played at the previous four Chan final tournaments in Sudan (2011), South Africa (2014), Rwanda (2016) and lately Morocco (2018).

They join other East African countries (Rwanda and Tanzania) who has qualified.

CHAN is a tournament exclusively reserved for the locally based players plying their trade in the respective domestic leagues.

The tournament is now held every even year, alternating with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Morocco is the reigning champion of the tournament.
